Jill Kelley advises professional teams, leagues, operators, and investors on sports and league advisory matters, from tournament and league formation through complex commercial transactions, sponsorship and naming rights deals, and media and commercial partnerships. Her practice is informed by nearly a decade of senior in-house leadership in the industry, including as general counsel of an NFL franchise and of a U.S. sportsbook. That operator's vantage point lets her advise clients through the full arc of a complex sports transaction, from strategic structuring and regulatory diligence through commercial negotiation and post-close execution. That work extends into sports betting and gaming, where she advises commercial and tribal operators and their sports counterparties on licensing, market access, and the regulatory frameworks that increasingly shape team, league, and sponsor deals.

As General Counsel of the New York Jets, Jill drove strategy on sponsorship, media, and technology rights, stadium partnerships including MetLife Stadium naming rights, data privacy, intellectual property, and played a pivotal role in the club's strategic initiatives across the NFL ecosystem, including their UK expansion under the NFL's global markets program. As U.S. General Counsel of PointsBet, she built the legal infrastructure for a multi-state sports betting rollout from the ground up, including licensing, regulatory approvals, and a landmark market access agreement with Penn National Gaming. Jill has also advised the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Foxwoods Resort Casino on tribal gaming regulation, compliance, taxation, and technology matters.

Jill is a Lecturer in Sports Law & Ethics at Columbia University and speaks frequently on issues shaping women's and men's sports.  Her speaking engagements include the NFL Women's Forum, the NFL League Office, the Sports Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, The Economist, and the National Intertribal Tax Alliance.
